Easingwold and Northallerton Osteopaths operate as one business with dual site locations, with both clinics being managed and owned by Osteopaths Joanna Waterworth and Ross Gemmell. Our Easingwold clinic was established as an expansion of our successful Northallerton clinic.
We are proud to announce that Northallerton Osteopaths - Hale House has achieved national acclaim by being named 'Large Practice of the Year 2024' at the prestigious Institute of Osteopathy (iO) Annual Awards. This significant honor highlights our dedication to providing exceptional patient care, fostering professional collaboration, and engaging with our community. It’s a milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in osteopathy.
A Journey Marked by Dedication
Just a year ago, we celebrated reaching the finals of the 2023 UK Practice of the Year Awards, an achievement that underscored the dedication of our incredible team and the trust of our loyal patients. Fast forward to 2024, and we are thrilled to have secured the top spot. This victory fills us with gratitude and inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence in osteopathy.
Our journey began over 30 years ago under the leadership of Joanna Waterworth and Ross Gemmell, evolving into a multidisciplinary clinic that thrives on teamwork and innovation. Today, our practice at Hale House is home to seven osteopaths and 11 other skilled practitioners. Guided by the meaning of the word ‘Hale’—health in Old English—we strive to create a space where holistic health and well-being flourish.
Setting the Gold Standard in Osteopathy
The iO Annual Awards recognize practices that excel not only in patient care but also in innovation, service delivery, and community impact. Maurice Cheng, Chief Executive of the Institute of Osteopathy, described our clinic as:
"A shining example of what a large practice can achieve. Their commitment to a multidisciplinary approach, patient-centered care, and their local community is exemplary."
From our YouTube channel, which hosts over 100 exercise and advice videos with more than 250,000 views, to in-house CPD workshops and community classes in yoga, Pilates, and drama, we are dedicated to supporting our patients and practitioners in every way possible.
Putting Patients First
At the heart of our success are the incredible stories of our patients. Their experiences showcase the life-changing impact of osteopathy and holistic care:
Kelvin, a firefighter, shared, “The osteopaths at Northallerton Osteopaths have been invaluable in helping me maintain my fitness and continue my career. Their treatment and advice have always been exceptional.”
Another patient reflected, “The care here has improved my family’s quality of life. From osteopathy during my pregnancy to counselling and acupuncture, Jo and Ross have created a trusted space where everyone feels welcome and cared for.”
Nurturing Our Team and Community
Our success is deeply rooted in a supportive environment that prioritizes professional growth and teamwork. From mentorship programs and mental health first aid training to workshops on bone and knee health, we ensure our team has the resources they need to thrive. One of our sports therapists expressed:
"Working at Northallerton Osteopaths has been a fantastic experience. The mentorship from Jo and Ross and the opportunity to collaborate with other practitioners has helped me grow both professionally and personally."
Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey
Winning the UK Practice of the Year 2024 award is a shared achievement. We extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated team for their hard work and to our amazing patients for their trust and support. As Jo and Ross shared during the awards ceremony:
"We are overjoyed to receive this recognition. It reflects the passion and dedication of our incredible team and the trust of our wonderful patients. Thank you for being a part of our journey."
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this accolade, we remain focused on raising the standard in osteopathy. Whether through innovative treatments, empowering patient resources, or fostering community well-being, Northallerton Osteopaths is committed to embodying the ethos of ‘Hale’—health in every sense of the word.
